Far East Broadcasting Associates of Canada (FEBCanada) – a registered charitable Christian parachurch organization in Richmond, British Columbia – announced today that Evert Van Steenbergen has been appointed Executive Director by the ministry’s board of directors.

Mr. Van Steenbergen has over 20 years of experience in senior management positions in China – including more than a decade of involvement in fundraising and board management for ministry projects. His experience includes being a founding father and board member of New Day Education in Zimbabwe, and as an executive member of Shanghai Abundant Grace International Fellowship.

Mr. Van Steenbergen received an MBA in International Business from the University of Calgary, a BA from Calvin University in Michigan, and various other certificates in management and language studies.

“After a long and prayerful discernment, the board believes Mr. Van Steenbergen is a qualified and gifted leader for FEBCanada’s next season of ministry succession,” says Brian Ho, board chair of FEBCanada. “Evert brings a unique cross-cultural contextualization experience, with a passion for global missions. We are delighted with his appointment, as our ministry’s first externally hired executive director in decades.”

The board would like to thank Mr. Stenly Yuen, former board chair and long-serving board member, who is concluding his role as executive director (volunteer) for the past four and a half years. He was the forerunner, with a vision to prepare the organization for the incoming senior executive leader. Mr. Yuen will be succeeded by Mr. Van Steenbergen on January 1, 2023 – after which time he will immediately rejoin the board.
